Nilson Winter Construction Cabinetry was founded 10 years ago by two partners with complimentary backgrounds--Jeff Nilson, who brings expertise in Furniture, Cabinetry and Finish Carpentry, and Joe Winter, with solid experience in Custom Home Building and Construction Management.
Unlike so many of our competitors, we believe in building everything ourselves in order to control quality, color, grain, and style that is unmatched by large cabinet door manufacturers. We use a successful blend of handwork and artistic carvings along with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure that every piece of furniture is uniquely and professionally made.
Nilson Winter is one of the few shops that maintain the equipment, tooling and knowledge to make doors, dovetailed drawers, radius moldings and casework.
We can Book and Grain Match doors to create an artistic statement, and breathtaking focal points. We still scribe our cabinetry to walls with hand planes, not applied scribe molding. We also integrate the details into the case work like carvings, to create real furniture, not a furniture look.
When a veneer is required, we use wood glue and a vacuum press to permanently adhere the veneer. This is a process that is unmatched by contact adhesive, which will typically dry out and separate over time.
